what's the different between "to see" and "seeing".....
which of the following is correct?
"i like to swim"
"i like swimming"
i GUESS both are correct but the second line is more often

i feel so good reading Lizard's writing~
it's cuz most of my friends type in the same way as Lizard does~
u, v, hv, 2, n', wut...........
not much ppl write in that 'lazy' way~
oh...... i meant FAST way~ hehehe~
i sometimes accidently write "hv" instead of "have" in my homework....... ha~that's stupid~~~

IT is because "mind".
The original sentence is
actually i dun mind to see anyone shows off his english
^^^^^^^^^^^
should be-- mind +Ving
"See" here means "think about".
therefore,
[see + obj + v-ing]
Therefore, the correct sentence
actually I don't mind seeing anyone showing off his English.

It is really frustrating to learn English grammer...
Lots of tricks....Hate it..(But I think the reason is it is second language.)

I guess sandra means that we should not discuss such issues in English...
Maybe we can all continue our discussions in kiasushou's thread.


That' what I meant. Since to find a moderator or to establish a policy of this board is important, everyone visiting this board has the right to talk about his/her opinion without the language limitation. In my opinion, it would be better to open a new thread to discuss. After all, people here are those who are interested in chatting in English, not all the people visiting this board. Probably some one out here would like to be a moderator.:)

well, u should say i am the ex-board master in the ftp section:):)
in fact, i have no time login in popgo "every day" and take control a board regularly to do my routine. that's why i quit this job. in my opinion, at least, it's the basic requirement that a board master should login popgo more often. no one has critical words on it, right??that's why u guys think BitByte always disappears and get this discussion. so i pass and and thank you for your supporting:):)

many people want to practice writing by posting eng threads here. if people with better english are not allowed to correct others' garmmar mistakes, how can they improve their english?
i think it's not a bad thing to tell others the mistakes they've made....

ok, i am sorry for giving the wrong expression u got before. of course i know that's a good approach to improve english writing.
if i know the answer, i would be glad to tell others in need of helps. i just wanna emphasize to concentrate on not only the grammar but the process we argue:):)

i guess there's no difference in oral and the 2nd one is more popular to use. as to grammar, for your example, "i like to swim" means the abstract action, and "i like swimming" means the real acticity. any comments?_?

Hey, guys. I had a really good:)(but tired:() time tonight. My school, Satellite High School , and Melbourne HS had a great concert(chorus)tonight. Satellite HS is awesome, they sang about 6 songs, include one vocal solo, 4 chorus, and one song and dance.The most thing make me feel they're awesome is a half-deaf girl played an amazing music on the piano. Of course my school also is very good:D, we sang 4 songs. At the end of the concert, these three school sang togather(that's really, really crowded, but I was standing in the front line, so I am fine:)), the song called "Corner of The Sky", that's a pretty song, and we sang pretty good. However, after the concert was over, I nearly can't stand, and I fell asleep in car. And the big problem is the homework, I get to figure out how to finish them in my dream. :D

hoho, looks like your joined school concert is a great success. Congratulations and your effort is worthy. I have my second subject paper yesterday .......tomorrow going for third paper network....(sweating). So now i am struggling....argh. Good luck all of you..hoho

ha, those are not supposed to be 'standard english'. Just shorthands.
It's like those '886', '75' in this chinese forum.
