以前我并不知道:英国人讨厌美国人.美国人同样讨厌英国人.(大部分)
我们老师说移民到美国的英国人大多数是苏格兰人,因为历史原因.苏格兰人不喜欢英格兰人.

I don't think that Americans hate the English. If they did hate English people then why did they intervene in World War I and II and behalf of England, and why do they today watch James Bond movies? Also a large number of English did move to America. My own ancestors came from all parts of Britain and some countries in Europe. You may be right about English hating Americans(I do not know) ,and Scotland was oppressed by England. By the way, where are you?

英国人觉得美国人太狂，美国人觉得英国人太傲~随便他们了~

they have one common after all, said by my british friend, american dont like George Bush just as the way british dont like Tony Blair. ah ha~

I will not comment on the "hate" part...

About settlers in U.S, most of the orginal ones were Anglo-Saxons. However, many immigrants are Irish. Still, I think that your teacher is trying to say Irish instead of Scotish, because most English immigrants in the US were Irish. In addtion, there were also many Germans. In late 1800s, "new" immigrants came from eastern and southern Europe such as Sicily, Italy, the Balkans, and Russia.

老一輩的Scotts的確不喜歡英國人~~原因是以前England入侵Scotland,要將他們歸入England的一部分~~
當然現在很少人會在意這些了^_^

我认为英美没有什么互恨。他们互嘲倒是有的。美国人常笑英国人太过保守，至今还保留英国王室，浪费纳税人的钱。英国人则笑美国人虽然号称“梦幻之地”，但实际上却是一块充满矛盾的地方。此外英国人也笑美国人没有自己的文化历史，所有的文化、文学等都是来之欧洲；美国人则笑英国人还抱着“日不落国”的历史不放。

其实他们最多局限互嘲吧~~
说真的加拿大对美国还不是一样的态度....
