The black sword made of iron who fell from heaven
as a blazing star, there was one other sword of
that Iron named Anguirel and they was both made
of the Dark-Elf Eol, it`s blade shone and it was able
to cleave iron as was it old wood.. Beleg Cuthalion
choose Anglachel from the weaponry of Thingol in Doriath
who had recieved it from Eol as a payment for the
permission to live in the forest of Nan-Elmoth. Beleg
was killed with Anglachel by Turin Hurinson in
Taur-nu-Fuin by an accident and the sword had lost
it`s light and the blade was black and dull. Turin
brought it in F.A.490 to Nargothrond where it was
remade by the Noldor-smiths, and it shone with a
pale fire but the blade was ever black and Turin
named it Gurthang ; Iron of Death.
