320K CBR是最好的毫无疑问

--abr n average bitrate encoding
Turns on encoding with a targeted average bitrate of n kbits, allowing to use frames of different sizes. The allowed range of n is 8-310, you can use any integer value within that range.

It can be combined with the -b and -B switches like:
lame --abr 123 -b 64 -B 192 a.wav a.mp3
which would limit the allowed frame sizes between 64 and 192 kbits.

-V 0...9 VBR quality setting
Enable VBR (Variable BitRate) and specifies the value of VBR quality.
default=4
0=highest quality.

--vbr-new new VBR mode
Invokes the newest VBR algorithm. During the development of version 3.90, considerable tuning was done on this algorithm, and it is now considered to be on par with the original --vbr-old.
It has the added advantage of being very fast (over twice as fast as --vbr-old).

--vbr-old older VBR mode
Invokes the oldest, most tested VBR algorithm. It produces very good quality files, though is not very fast. This has, up through v3.89, been considered the "workhorse" VBR algorithm.

-B n maximum VBR/ABR bitrate
For MPEG1 (sampling frequencies of 32, 44.1 and 48 kHz)
n = 32,40,48,56,64,80,96,112,128,160,192,224,256,320

For MPEG2 (sampling frequencies of 16, 22.05 and 24 kHz)
n = 8,16,24,32,40,48,56,64,80,96,112,128,144,160

Specifies the maximum allowed bitrate when using VBR/ABR

Built-in presets

Lame features some built-in presets. Those presets are designed to provide the highest possible quality.
They have for the most part been subject to and tuned via rigorous listening tests to verify and achieve this objective. These are continually updated to coincide with the latest developments that occur and as a result should provide you with nearly the best quality currently possible from LAME.

If your goal is quality, these presets are highly recomended over any custom set of parameters you might use. To activate presets, you should use:
lame --preset preset_name

VBR modes
--preset medium
This preset should provide near transparency to most people on most music.
The resulting bitrate should be in the 150-180kbps range, according to music complexity.

--preset standard
This preset should generally be transparent to most people on most music and is already quite high in quality.
The resulting bitrate should be in the 170-210kbps range, according to music complexity.

--preset extreme
If you have extremely good hearing and similar equipment, this preset will provide slightly higher quality than the "standard" mode.
The resulting bitrate should be in the 200-240kbps range, according to music complexity.

Any of those VBR presets can also be used in fast mode, using the new vbr algorithm. This mode is faster, but its quality could be a little lower. To enable the fast mode, use:
lame --preset fast preset_name

warning: with the current version fast presets might result in too high bitrate compared to regular presets.

CBR 320kbps
--preset insane
This preset will usually be overkill for most people and most situations, but if you must have the absolute highest quality with no regard to filesize, this is the way to go. This preset is the highest preset quality available.

ABR modes
--preset
Using this preset will usually give you good quality at a specified bitrate. Depending on the bitrate entered, this preset will determine the optimal settings for that particular situation.
While this approach works, it is not nearly as flexible as VBR, and usually will not reach the same quality level as VBR at higher bitrates.
If you need CBR encoding, those presets can also be used in CBR mode by using:
lame --preset cbr

其次VBR -alt--present extreme
当然CBR 320K比VBR-alt--present extreme要好，以前他们也使用此参数。
现在，他们认为文件大15％，还不如直接来无损的APE
总结
MPC Q10>mp3 CBR 320K>mp3 VBR-alt--present extreme

低比特率下只推荐WMA 9 VBR 85-145kbps或更低一档的50－95kbps

MPC Q 10的普及率也是问题

强烈建议大家把光碟抓下的WAV文件压缩成MPC格式！
它比用LAME的最高音质："--alt-preset extreme"甚至"--alt-preset cbr 320"压缩得到的MP3文件音质还要好！！而且占用空间不大，比APE小至少一半，下面具体说明：

一、最大的优点

MPC: Musepack
对有损压缩来说，没有任何一种格式能在 128kbps 左右提供完美的音质，mp3 固然是当前使用量最大的格式，但因为它最初开发的主要目的是在 128kbps 下以较小的文件达到接近 CD 的音质（显然这是成功的，但对苛刻的音乐迷来说并不能令人满意），所以后来陆续出现了各种其他格式......aac，ogg，mpc......，mpc是其中的佼佼者，它是目前最优秀的有损压缩音频格式。而且它也是类似LAME的VBR模式，可以根据数据量多少自动调整比特率。

MPC 格式从最初就是以音质为目的开发的，因为采用了优秀的算法，在高于 160kbps 的情况下音质比同比特率的 mp3 要好得多。LAME 开发者之一，preset 参数设计者 Dibrom 也承认 MPC 在 1xxkbps 下的音质与 MP3 在 2xxkbps 下的音质相当，并建议除非考虑兼容性问题（比如用MP3随身听等），推荐使用 MPC 进行编码。由此可见 mpc 的威力！
而且它还有一个最大的优点就是编码速度快，是 LAME 的 2-4 倍！在下亲身试验过，而且我已经不再用LAME了，都用Musepack：）

当前 MPC 编码器的推荐版本为 Musepack MPC version 1.1，下载地址：http://www.uni-jena.de/~pfk/MPP/bin...windows-1.1.zip ，解压后将mppenc.exe 文件拷贝到任一目录下备用。

三、结合EAC用musepack编码MPC文件的具体方法

下面介绍如何结合EAC使用：
1、确定你已经在 EAC 中设置好了设置压缩选项。
选择 EAC->Compression Options...或按 F11键打开 Compression options 窗口。
在 Parameter passing scheme 下拉列表中选择 User Defined Encoder，在 Use file extension 中填入.mpc，点 Brower...定位 mppenc.exe 所在目录，在 Additional command line option 中填写压缩参数
！注意！其中的 %s、%d 指代原文件和目标文件，一定要填写。

与 Lame.exe 相似，mppenc.exe 也定义了几个内置的压缩参数，推荐如下：
--quality 10 %s %d
(300bit~380bit)
--quality 8 %s %d
（Bitrates >240 kbit/s）
--quality 7
（Bitrates >220 kbit/s）
--quality 6
（Bitrate ~200 kbit/s，一般在 168 ... 212 之间）
--quality 5
（Bitrate ~175 kbit/s，一般在 142 ... 184 之间）

注明："--quality 10 %s %d"这个参数是我自己试验出来的最佳方案!当然，目的是纯粹追求接近APE的极品音质，经过我的实践，此参数可以压出平均值在380bitrate的文件，但是能压成这样高比特率的文件其实很少有。其实下载的压缩包里的说明里面没有--quality这个参数说明，网页上面也没有，是我从别处看来的，但我又做了一些试验。其实mppenc编码器的网页上介绍的参数名称叫做"profile"，profile有好几种：standard,xtreme,insane，这三个是介绍的，但是其实还有更多的参数，网页上没有公布罢了，我经过试验得出了结论，--quality参数和profile参数是一一对应的，公布如下：

--quality 5：standard;
--quality 6: xtreme;
--quality 7:insane;
--quality 8:BrainDead;
--quality 9: above BrainDead;
--quality 10: above BrainDead （此为最高音质设置，音质320K以上）
（另外，还有低音质，就不用提了：）

不过如果存储空间有限的话，用--quality 6 %s %d或者7也已经相当好，音质绝对等于或超过LAME--alt-preset extreme压出的平均比特率在200左右的MP3。

所以--quality 10 %s %d是我推荐的参数，欢迎大家谁用过可以讨论。而且这个参数可以使MPC文件体积是WAV文件的四分之一之内。

2、开始压缩：
！！注意！！经过我亲自试验，不要用EAC里面的抓取WAV文件的同时压缩这个功能，否则压出的文件虽然大小一样，但是根本不能播放！

所以要用“压缩WAV文件”这个选项，也就是在 Tools 菜单下选择 Compress WAVs 或按 Ctrl+V 键，在弹出的 Select WAVs to compress 里选择想要压缩的 WAV 文件（可以批量压缩），点击 Open，最后选择压缩后想要存放的目录即可开始压缩。文件名不用写，将与原文件相同，这是EAC的参数决定的。

四、关于播放软件

这个软件是我最近才知道的，所以测试工作做的不算太多，但是事实证明，这确实比LAME做出的MP3更加接近原本WAV音质的音乐格式，而且拥有比LAME更快的编码速度，非常值得推荐、强烈推荐！！：）体积不大，而且音质绝对超过LAME CBR320！在下目前都用--quality 10 来压缩音乐了，效果没的说，完全听不出和源WAV文件的区别：）

试验了一个下午，果然mpc的音质比mp3好。

不过320k的cbr和q10的mpc音质差距不是想象中那么大。

其实我觉得256k以上的cbr&vbr音质与同码率的mpc差别很小，但mpc码率可以超过320k，因而音质才会超过cbr。

320k cbr mp3还是比较普及吧，如果突然换成mpc反而不习惯了。
