其實無論什麽地方，大部分的所謂"上流社會"都是related吧。
這些人的結婚可選擇對象比較狹窄的。

老美的名字真悶.
看這tree, 竟然可以那麽多John和Elizabeth.

我也從來不明白他們父子/母女喜歡share firstname的傳統是怎麽來的。
特別是父子，既然大家都是一樣lastname, 再重復firstname就是多餘。還有最誇張的那些Jr....

中國的排字輩有意思多了。(雖然現在也許不那麽流行了?)

父子/母女同名是取紀念之意吧 (JR還好﹐我見過一個John VI的﹐FT)
而且幾百年前美國人跟比現在要更thoroughly Protestant
聖經裡面的女人名字(除去猶太色彩的)似乎也不那麼多

还有一个情况是..国外并没有从单词中取名字的习惯..很多名字都是从圣经及其他典故来的"老"名字...自己创造名字的情况还是少数啊

不过记得上次还有什么皇家血统论, 说历代总统总和欧洲皇室有点联系, 2000年就是因为BUSH比GORE多几个百分点之类的...
不过毕竟是简单的10几代人..10代人如果平均每代有2人就会涉及1000人, 20代就会涉及1000000人...
如果是平均3个子女10代就是60W人..=_+
按过去几百年人口增长的情况来说...这个因数肯定不小吧...
