So I had this exam (2nd so far in this semester) last week, it was allright for me but many people had trouble with it. What my professor decided to do is to have each one (there are about 80 students in class) to bring in graded homeworks and first exam to his office and he will check each student's performance individually. And what's more surprising is that today in class he announced a couple of student names and asked those he called to stand up briefly in front of everyone else, those are the ones who are either failed the exam while missing a lot of classes or failed the exam with close to perfect scores on homeworks. I have never seen anything quite like that since I graduated from elementary school. In case you wondow I didn't receive such "honor". Basically close to 20% of the class failed this exam. Since most students are seniors, failing the course means a no to graduation, which is something neither a student or the prof wants to see. Why many people did so poorly on this exam? honestly I have seen much harder exams in my last 4 years in college, so I am just about as confused as the professor when he got the result back from his TAs.

Anyway I just want to mention it 'cause it reminds me the "dictatorship" style of teaching in china last century. I used to believe it is something I would never encouter again, until this day.

The end of April is approaching, which means those who are in college/university will have finals, projects and other things to be turned in soon. Let's all hope that we cross the finish line with no regret left behind.

如果因为挂课没法毕业~ 不得不说是一个讽刺……
插一句吧：学校是个很单纯的学习环境,但我想，如果是被动的去灌输了一些课程，为了拿“Ａ”，未必有什么意义. 兴趣才是最重要的吧～
