There is no way that everything can come directly and immediately--we have to make choices, and pay the opportunity cost.
It is quite understandable that most people want to see results as quick as it can happen. But, think about the future! Politicians make policies with immediate resultts and make tons of promises to win election by "popularity contest". True Statesman tend to treat things in long term, despite how these things will affect the results of the election.
