Some Explanations
I would like to show you some of my perspectives on a few details I portrayed in Chapter 5, as it is only a fiction in which it is not suitable to write opinions directly.
1. About Kagome’s decision
Is it good or bad? Questions like this differ from the deductive logic that we are familiar with for it has not a certain answer and depends on the standard we posed. For instance, we have a commonplace sense that steal is bad, but when we take this standard, that is, that things that can bring wealth back are good ones, we will easily find that steal is good here. This example is typical, I think, for it reveals that we often see some value judgments as one-answer ones because we accept a kind of common standard without awareness. Then what leads to these standards? Our destinations, our aims often do it. “A choice that can help us achieve a goal is a good choice.” We often accept such a kind of law. I thought that this theory could take account of the rationality of Kagome’s choice for she has her aims, the happiness of Inuyasha, and then these goals bring about her decision which is good as far as the standard derived from her purpose is concerned.
2. About some critiques
Some net-friends told me that my story was gloomy and lacked fun, some even proposed that I had changed the characteristic of Inuyasha. Firstly, I have got to say that in my eyes, Inuyasha is a man rather than the childish one as he was portrayed in the cartoon. (Most “amendments” in TV are awful, I think. And I suggest that you pay more attention on manga if you want to perceive more.) Secondly what I want to show you is a scene that bears more resemblance to the reality. Such people with deceit, betrayal, menace and greed as we all have met are everywhere in the society. I’m gonna reveal these traits in my fiction. You can probably find them in the next chapter. As to the protagonists, things in front of them in my fiction are not random hardships that are hurled in here and there to make them miserable. I prefer to speculate that there are theorems that govern our lives. I don’t figure that people without pain, loneliness, and burdens can feel welfare for they don’t understand the price of live. It is often when we carry the heaviest burdens that we realize the relief that can be found in a love, a family and a friend lifting them for us. And I insist that the one who lives free from the regret of past faults be the one who has never learned the great worth of words “ I’m sorry”, nor felt the sentence “ I would miss you”; nor seen that a broken heart is not always final, and that dwelling on the past can never change it. In my mind, Kagome did hit the rock bottom after a long term without sufficient care from Inuyasha. Despondency will grip one if his endeavor is devastated again and again. This is a sort of instinct in human beings, so does Kagome. So, I arranged her death to show Inuyasha something that love is reciprocal and his work is not enough. Of course, when I wrote the priestess left the sword in the prologue (this fiction is the sequel), I had already gotten the idea.
At last, had this fiction been a dissertation, I would have been glad to show you some scientific theories I referred during the process of writing to help you understand it better. So, I gotta stop here. Hope it helps.

2.关于评论
一些网友说我的故事过于沉闷，也不有趣，有的甚至认为我扭曲了犬夜叉的性格。
首先，我必须说明的是，在我眼里，犬夜叉是一个男人，而不是像动画中所刻画的那么孩子气。（我认为TV版的多数改动都十分糟糕。如果你们想要更深入地了解，我建议你们多关注一下漫画。）
其次，我试图展现的是一幅更接近于现实的画面。
在现实社会里，欺骗，背叛，威胁和贪婪比比皆是。我想要在我的故事里把它们体现出来。很可能就是下一话。
至于主要人物的设定，他们所将遇到的困难并不是偶然出现的，我也不是有意地要折磨他们。
我认为我们的生活是受某些法则所引导的。没有经历过痛苦，孤独和压力的人就不懂得活着的代价，也就体味不到幸福的感觉。对过去的错误毫无悔意的人永远不懂“对不起”，“我会想你的”这样的话的价值，也远不会明白心碎并不一定就意味着结束，仅仅沉湎于过去并不能将失误挽回。
在我看来，戈薇这一次的确非常伤心，因为犬夜叉长久以来都没能给她足够的关怀。如果一个人的努力总是被一次又一次地破坏，他最终会陷入绝望。这是人类的共性和本能，戈薇也一样。所以，我安排了她的死来让犬夜叉明白，爱是相互的，是需要回应的，而他所做的还远远不够。
当然，我在写薇子留下那把剑时（参看《犬夜叉前传》）就已经想到了这一点。
