是我不懂还是你不懂，词汇量的丰沛程度大了说直接反应了一种语言的现代化和文明程度，小了说是判断你外语学习是否进阶的首要指标之一，和讲究不讲究简洁明快有何矛盾的。
掌握简单的英语只是众多英语学习目的中的一个，请你不要随便代表全世界人民，我也在学法语，而且我可以负责任的告诉你，英语深学下去并不见得就比法语更容易掌握，学无止境，你的明白？

更重要的是This suggests that there are, at the very least, a quarter of a million distinct English words, excluding inflections, and words from technical and regional vocabulary not covered by the OED, or words not yet added to the published dictionary, of which perhaps 20 per cent are no longer in current use. If distinct senses were counted, the total would probably approach three quarters of a million.
