who's got the broadband of NTL in the uk? i couldnt access the internet on my laptop!! so couldnt some of my housemates. it failed to config my ip address when it was actually connected! and something wrong with the rooter too. cant use wireless card!!!ahhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

what is DHCP?DCHP? is there anything to do with it?

is a protocol for configuring your IP and other
network settings automatically.

router一定要按照说明书config然后再把你的电脑制定在那个ip上
laptop的wireless card 嘛。。。也要看看说明书上有没有说哪个键管wireless enable/disable的（重要） 然后去control panel-->network connections下面设置一下

bird可以试试打电话问service center:)

i havent got a wirless card since the modem just doent recognize my laptop. IT TURNED ME DOWN:(

i dont think it's free 2 call the customer service= =

the broadband modem is supposed to be used only by one person. as there r 7 of us, we bought a router. i havent done the router part cos some of us cant access the internet through the wire.

你们的router是wireless的吗?

1. 去ie地址栏输入: 192.168.1.1去设置wireless router

也可能是192.168.2.1,这个你要先去看下你的router的手册说明,

会提示你输入密码,router的密码在手册说明里有.缺省为:admin

2.进入wireless router设置页面后,可以看到internet或者wide wireless network setup, 选择pppoe,输入你们的isp帐号和密码(如果需要),

其他一般保持缺省的参数就可以了.
每种型号的router设置页面会不尽相同,

我只是以我们用的为例说明,主要的是找到pppoe的选项,如果找到类似"renew ip address"的选项,你不妨试试点下老鼠啦

的确不是免费的...事实是很贵还很难接通...= ="

不过如果是为了share的话最好还是问一下...
我同学也是有和邻居share，开始她们自己买了一个multi-user的modem，
但是就是不能用，后来还是打了电话问了KPN，从KPN买了个新的才能用了。
不知道英国是不是也一定要买电信公司配送的modem，但是好像是涉及到register的问题否则不能用的。@@"

router偶很久以前也试过，没成功...="=

try bypass the rooter first
if you use XP,use run then type cmd try to reconfig your ip adress and reset your rooter as well

礼拜三解决了, HORAY~~~

一个戴眼镜呆呆的男生过来帮我们修的. 因为ROUTER这事拖了一个月, 所以一有网络大家都特别激动. 称呼他为我们的HERO. 一屋子7个女生为一个男生喝彩, 给足面子了^^
