There is a lot of misinformation, conspiracy theories and general misunderstandings regarding our recent shutdown circulating on the internet, so we thought we'd clear some things up.
* gg didn't pay for the shutdown. koda had nothing to do with it.
* The real reason for the shutdown has nothing to do with Daiz, donation drama, whiny kids on the internet, or anything like that. It was simply getting annoying to maintain this huge operation. Daiz was out trolling Doki for his own purposes and that retarded hurfing thread on BakaBT was just used as an excuse to stop anime releases. Initially the entire thing was intended as a troll, and we were going to resume releases after a few days, but then we just decided to shut down the entire thing and go back to sleeping instead.
* This shutdown has been a long time coming; it wasn't something decided on a whim.
* Originally the entire point with ElitistFags was to troll fansubbers. That is, troll the fansub groups with their own cappers, since everyone would now have equal access to TS's. Then it sorta shifted to get everyone to rely on us so we'd kill fansubbing when we quit.
Some people seem to be under the impression that it would be easy to replace us. Yeeeah, about that... Things you need to run ElitistFags:
* One computer located in Tokyo, in an appropriate area where you can get all the regular channels as well as TVK and Teletama. Needs to be in a building where it's possible to mount satellite dishes. Must have 100mbit internet.
* One computer located in Osaka. Must have 100mbit internet.
* Two PT2 tuner cards, one Friio and one DVB-S2 USB tuner, as well as various signal amplifiers, antennas, satellite dishes, card readers and other tools, total cost most likely not less than $1500 USD
* A distro server with at least 400GB of extremely fast RAID disk, a gigabit internet connection and at the very least 50TB of transfer per month (that's an average of around 20MB/s 24/7).
* Various TV subscriptions.
If you can find someone who can cough that up, we'd be rather impressed. There has been nobody quite like us before, and we predict there will be nobody quite like us afterwards either.
Finally, it's quite amusing to read some of the hurfing and durfing being thrown around. People really seem to genuinely think we are fucking assholes for having the gall of not spending large amounts of cash on providing them with infinite amounts of free TV.
All in all, while it took eight months, a lot of work and a lot of money to set up, we still think was a pretty successful troll. Now go do something better with your lives than watching Japanese TV, fags. Also, the internet makes you stupid, so make sure to stay off it.

They are all literally twelve years old and are incapable of handling themselves with any sort of reason and dignity. In order to teach them a lesson that will hopefully chastise them into acting like reasonable grownups (I wish), all anime releases have been put on hold indefinitely, effective immediately.
If you have any problems with this, please contact Daiz since this is all his fault.
