這樣說就像講壓縮資料壓成 .zip 好還是 .rar 好，不需以字幕内嵌為考量依據。

Divx 編碼只有一家版本
Xvid 編碼目前有兩家版本(可能造成你我不相容)

PS.XviD比 DivX更具壓縮能力，可將四片 DVD內容轉為三片 DVD rip

而畫質好壞你可從觀察人物邊緣線條附近看出或大規模畫面移動看出
作為斷定好壞依據，而字幕相當於明顯之邊緣線條。

個人比較喜歡xvid，因爲Bframe的出現使得xvid前進了一大步
Bframe沒出來之前偏好divx311 >.<
